Verification of ancient prose and false books of Shangshu

Many scholars in China during the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties questioned Hu Mei's Shangshu. Some scholars believe that "when reading Fu Sheng today, the history books are true, and the ancient prose is forged by post-Confucianism". However, some scholars believe that the existing ancient prose Shangshu may be supplemented by sporadic abridgements handed down after the Qin fire.

In 2008, some ancient books found in a batch of precious bamboo slips in Tsinghua University (referred to as "Tsinghua Bamboo Slips") were written before the books were burned. Some appellations, such as Jin Huan, Gao Kang and Gu Ming, have been handed down from generation to generation, but the sentences are quite different, even the appellations are different. More is an unprecedented chapter. For example, Biography of Fu Shuo, a famous piece of Shangshu quoted in pre-Qin literature, is not the same as the pseudo-ancient prose handed down from ancient times. According to expert appraisal, some of these bamboo slips in Tsinghua have been lost for many years, which proves that Shangshu, an ancient book in China that has been circulating for more than 2,000 years, is indeed a "fake book".
