History teaching was conceived in the second half of 1950. At that time, several historians in Beijing and Tianjin who were interested in promoting the development of new China's cultural undertakings, after some planning, submitted a publishing application to the Cultural and Educational Office of Tianjin Military Management Committee, which was immediately approved. At that time, the journal was founded by seven people, namely: Zhang (then professor of Peking University History Department), Li Guangbi (then director of history department of Hebei Women's Normal University), Yang (then professor of history department of Nankai University), Fu (then director of publishing department of Knowledge Bookstore), Sun Zuoyun (then researcher of Beijing Palace Museum), Ding Zeliang (then lecturer of Peking University History Department) and Guan Dedong. Of these scholars, only Yang and Zhang are still alive.
The newly established history teaching can be said to be a fan publication. At the beginning of its establishment, History Teaching Monthly and the Editorial Committee of History Teaching Monthly were established, with Li Guangbi as the editor-in-chief and several others as the editorial committees. At the beginning of publication, the biggest difficulty was funding. Several founders each took out a little money from their salary as the start-up cost, but it was a drop in the bucket. Finally, Mr. Zhang resolutely sold his twenty-four histories to make up for the start-up expenses. Huang Songling, Minister of Culture and Education of Tianjin Municipal Committee, was very concerned and supported after learning about this incident. He also helped the organizer borrow some money from the bank and instructed the knowledge bookstore to assist in the distribution. The famous revolutionary and educator Xu Teli (then Vice Minister Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China) wrote a headline for history teaching. 1953, Ma Xulun, a famous scholar and educator (then Minister of Education of the Central Committee) also wrote a title for history teaching, which was first published in the seventh issue of 1953 and has been in use ever since.
The first issue of History Teaching published 2000 copies, which was welcomed by readers and the circulation gradually increased. Up to 1952, 10000 copies have been issued. From 65438 to 0952, Qian (then an associate professor in the history department of Jingu University) served as the manager of the monthly magazine. At that time, Tianjin Branch of China Historical Society was established, and Shang Tong History Branch, the founder of history teaching, applied to the leaders of Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China for publications. Since the 7th issue 1952, this journal has been sponsored by Tianjin History Branch. The original Editorial Board of History Teaching Monthly was renamed Editorial Board of History Teaching Monthly, and the editorial board was expanded. Wu, Wei Hongyun, Lai, Qian, Shang Yue, Rong Mengyuan, Ji, and other historians of the older generation served as members of the editorial board. In the first two years after the publication of History Teaching, there were no full-time staff, and some editorial boards in Tianjin took turns to be responsible for editing, proofreading and publishing. 1953 set up an editorial department, and transferred several full-time editors and publishing administrators one after another. From 65438 to 0954, the circulation of History Teaching has reached 40,000 copies, which has a great influence on historians at home and abroad, and the publishing work is becoming increasingly heavy. In order to strengthen the editing work, History Teaching Monthly was merged into Tianjin Popular Publishing House (1956 was changed to Tianjin People's Publishing House), and the policy of serving history teaching in middle schools was determined.
From 65438 to 0956, the main person in charge of the Ministry of Education decided that history teaching should continue to be published under the leadership of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Ministry of Education should give guidance in business; And instructed the People's Education Publishing House to appoint someone to participate in the editorial board of History Teaching in order to establish regular contact.
1959, the editorial department of History Teaching was separated from Tianjin People's Publishing House, and the History Teaching Society was established, led by Hebei Branch of China Academy of Sciences, with Jian Zuo (then deputy director of the Institute) as its president and Lu Bin as its full-time vice president.
1960, after the cancellation of Hebei Science Branch, the History Teaching Society was managed by Hebei University. From 1963 to 1964, it is managed by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission. Liu Jinong (then deputy director of the Education Bureau) was the principal, Zuo Jian was the vice principal, and Lu Bin was the original one.
After the "Cultural Revolution" began, the publication of History Teaching was forced to stop, the organization was cancelled, the office was occupied, the staff was dispersed, and the books and materials were seriously lost. It is particularly regrettable that the script of the masthead inscribed by Xu Teli and Ma Xulun, the script of Guo Moruo and Ye Shengtao, the script of several letters of Fan Wenlan and other important scripts have all been destroyed without a trace.
1In June, 978, the preparatory meeting for the China Historical Planning Conference was held in Tianjin, and the meeting proposed to resume the monthly history teaching. Subsequently, the preparatory group for the resumption of publication was established, and in August, the resumption of publication was approved. On June+10, 5438, the Ministry of Education of the State Council resumed its professional guidance on history teaching.
1979,65438+10, History Teaching was officially re-published, and the History Teaching Society was resumed at the same time, with Liu Jinong (then director of Tianjin Education Bureau) as the president, and Lv Bin and Yang Baolin as full-time vice presidents successively.
From 65438 to 0986, the History Teaching Society was managed by Tianjin Publishing Bureau, with Yang Baolin as its president. 1990, with Hou Wanming as the president; From April 20065438 to present, Liu Wenjun (female) has been the president. 1998, the history teaching society merged with Tianjin Ancient Books Publishing House, but the name of the history teaching society was retained.

The members of the editorial board of history teaching have changed in different periods.
