The comprehensive mapping subsystem provides a unified mapping tool for the system, which can realize the storage and management of a large amount of basic geographical background data, remote sensing image data and professional analysis of the Tarim River Basin ecological environment remote sensing monitoring system according to business requirements. The system can not only produce and output various thematic element maps stored in the comprehensive database, but also can overlay and statistically generate new thematic maps based on different data sources according to business needs. The tight integration of the comprehensive mapping function module and the system's comprehensive database ensures the consistency and currentness of data and avoids conflicts caused by separate mapping of various departments.
The subsystem mainly has five functions: data calling, data editing, map layout, symbolization, and layer cutting (Figure 6-44).

(1) Data call: In the layout view, call various types of data according to the map number, administrative division range, and river basin range Graphic image data: load geographical background information, thematic graphic data, and remote sensing image data into the focus frame.
(2) Data editing: According to the specific needs of cartography, edit the called graphics data and draw circles, rectangles, polygons and other elements.
(3) Map layout: In accordance with national cartographic specifications, select and insert cartographic elements such as frame, north arrow, scale bar, legend, coordinate grid, etc. into the map with determined content, and set boundary lines and backgrounds. , map borders and other decorative elements.
(4) Symbolization: It is the core function of the comprehensive mapping module. According to the mapping content, various symbol libraries are called correspondingly to make the mapping results readable and measurable.
(5) Layer cutting: After completing the drawing effect, you can use the cutting function to select the drawing range for output according to business needs when printing.
