That is, compiling the Chinese version of Indian Buddhist scriptures and descriptions written by practitioners in China and Japan. Since the end of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Daoan has comprehensively sorted out the existing contemporary classics and compiled a comprehensive catalogue of classics. By the time of the Southern Qi Dynasty, monks had written the Sanzang Collection, and compiled a catalogue of the translated classics in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Liu Song Dynasty and the Southern Qi Dynasty.
