Post-Water Margin Works Evaluation
The Water Margin, a novel written by Zhang Hui in Ming and Qing Dynasties, is one of the most famous, widely circulated and most successful sequels among China's 25 classical masterpieces, and its original author is the owner of Qinglian House. The story describes that the heroes of the Water Margin are reincarnated one after another and become many heroes such as Yang Yao and Wang Mo. They robbed the rich and helped the poor, punished the evil and promoted the good, and gathered in Dongting Lake one after another, forming a huge water army that frightened the court. The story is full of twists and turns, touching, and tears of joy. Both Lu Xun, a master of literature, and Hu Shi, a master of Chinese studies, have made in-depth research and special comments on this book, which shows its important position in the history of China literature. According to Professor Zhang, an expert in novels in Ming and Qing Dynasties and director of the Institute of Ancient Books of Fudan University, Water Margin has three sequels, one is Water Margin in the early Qing Dynasty, and the other is Dangkou Biography in the late Qing Dynasty by Yu Wanchun. This novel is imaginative, full of twists and turns, and touching enough. However, because the author's creative purpose is to express grievances for the victims of Liangshan hero Shui Bo, it is a reflective work summarizing the victims of Liangshan hero. At that time, it seemed that his thoughts were too bold, so his influence was relatively small.
