How to reduce numbers in mathematics

The so-called reduction means that the numerator and denominator are divided by a non-zero integer at the same time. Of course, this integer must be able to divide the numerator and denominator.

For example

96/128

Both the numerator and denominator are divided by 4, that is, 96÷4

=

< p>24, 128÷4

=

32, that is

96/128

= (96÷4)/( 128÷4)

=

24/32

=

(24÷8)/(32÷8)

=

3/4
