The culture of any nation is born from production and life. When a cultural baby is born, poetry is the first cry. Mr. Lu Xun said that China's earliest literary creation may be the labor chant of "Sailing in Sailing" (that is, Hum Yo). These short four words, with rhythm, rhythm, repeated stacking skills and emotional expression, constitute the elements of poetry.
"If you don't learn poetry, you have nothing to say."
In the handed down literature, "Dage" in Volume 9 of Wu Yue Chun Qiu is considered to be the oldest poem, but it is actually a spell cast by hunters on bows and arrows. In the unearthed documents, there are also passages similar to ballads, such as Oracle Bone Inscriptions:
It rained today. It rains from the west? Is it raining in the east? It rains from the north? Is it raining in the south? (Guo Moruo, "Oracle Bone Inscriptions")
This will remind people of the famous sentence in Han Yuefu: "Fish plays lotus leaf east, fish plays lotus leaf west, fish plays lotus leaf south and fish plays lotus leaf north." Two thousand years apart, fortune tellers and lotus pickers in different situations are writing poems.
We often say that China is a country of poetry. One of the most obvious features is that in ancient China, it seems that everyone was chanting, discussing, reciting and writing poetry. When we open the Book of Rites and Zuo Zhuan, we will find that it doesn't make sense if we don't quote a few words from The Book of Songs. If you don't "give" poems on the spot and respond skillfully, you will lose face in the grand occasion of vassal diplomacy. Let's open the complete Tang poetry again. From the emperor to the prime minister, from the civilian to the military commander, from the famous poet to the anonymous, from the Taoist to the monk, from the boudoir to the market, poetry is being read everywhere, and everyone is writing poetry. There is even a separate volume called Ghost Poetry, which records the works of mysterious people. Pu Songling, who loves ghosts, foxes and flowers all his life, also has a poem "Love to hear ghosts sing autumn grave poems".
