Kao Gong Ji is the earliest handicraft monograph in China, and it is a rare guide to understand and study the scientific and technological achievements in the pre-Qin period.
The examination record is divided into two volumes. Its first sentence begins: "There are six jobs in the state, and all the work is done in one place." Baigong refers to the ancient official handicraft system.
