Chongqing Old City Wall
The ancient city wall of Chongqing is located in Yuzhong District, the ancient city of Chongqing. Before and after the Warring States Period, Chongqing was the capital of Pakistan, called Jiangzhou. After Qin Huiwen and Wang Jiunian (3 16) wiped out Pakistan, Sheba County ruled Jiangzhou. Jiangzhou City was built by Zhang Yi, the general of Qin Dynasty, and was rebuilt four times by Li Yan, the son of Three Kingdoms, Peng Daya at the end of Song Dynasty, Dai Ding in the early years of Ming Hongwu and Li, the governor of Sichuan in the second year of Qing Kangxi (1663). Since then, it has been repaired many times, but the shape has remained basically unchanged. Before the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were seventeen gates, nine open and eight closed. The so-called "Nine Openings", namely Chaotianmen, Dongshuimen, Taipingmen, Chuqimen, Jinzimen, Nanji Gate along the Yangtze River, Linjiangmen, Siqianmen along the Jialing River and Tongyuanmen on land, are all open. "Eight Gates", namely Cuiwei, Tai 'an, Renhe, Fenghuang, Jintang, Dingyuan, Hongya and Xishui, have gates, but they are not open and may be used for war preparation. Because of its long history, the old city has been destroyed by natural erosion and war, and now most of it has collapsed and been destroyed. Only the remains of Tongyuanmen and Dongshuimen can be verified, but most of the old names are still used today. ?
