Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang surnamed Zhu, so how did the pig killing industry avoid the royal taboo?

The so-called "anonymous", named Zhu by Ming Chengzu, actually has no influence on raising pigs, killing pigs and eating pork among the people.

In the past, in order to show the majesty of elders and kings, people could not directly appear their names in speeches and works.

It is said that taboos appeared in Xia and Shang Dynasties. In Shan Hai Jing, Xia Houqi wrote "Xia Hou Kai", but these are just legends. The truly well-founded taboo system appeared in the Zhou Dynasty.

There are four main objects that the ancients need to avoid: emperors, officials, sages and elders.

For example, Emperor Guangwu of Han Dynasty called Liu Xiu. In order to avoid taboo, the scholar at that time was renamed as "Cai Mao"; Confucius surnamed Qiu, and all Qiu surnames were changed to Qiu surnames in Qing Dynasty.

Although the ancients paid attention to taboo, they did not avoid surnames.

Gong Sun's ugly words: Don't be anonymous, the surname is the same, and the first name is unique.

It is clear here that the ancients thought that the first name was unique to them, but the surname was not, and many people generally owned it. Therefore, when the ancients avoided, they often did not avoid things that were homophonic with surnames.

Of course, there are exceptions. For example, the royal family in the Tang Dynasty was surnamed Li, so it was forbidden to catch and eat carp at that time. However, this is not clear. People in the Tang Dynasty still liked to eat carp, and descriptions of eating carp often appeared in the poems of Li Bai and Bai Juyi.

The royal family of the Ming Dynasty was Zhu, but he didn't shy away from it. Pork is still popular.

If carp is not allowed to eat according to the regulations of the royal family in Li Tang, then pork should not be allowed in the Ming Dynasty, but in fact there is no such relevant regulation in the Ming Dynasty.

First of all, since ancient times, people have kept their names secret, and there is no reason for the Ming royal family to avoid the word "pig" among the people. Moreover, the ancients often called pigs "pigs" and "pigs", and the word "pigs" did not catch on before modern times.

The only mineral directly influenced by the royal family name Zhu is cinnabar. After all, cinnabar is homophonic with "cinnabar", and the royal family still cares, so they ordered it to be renamed red sand.

The playful Ming Wuzong once banned pigs, but not for anonymity, but because of the zodiac.

Throughout the Ming Dynasty, there was basically no influence on people to kill pigs and eat pork because of the royal family's surname Zhu.

In the Ming Dynasty, slaughter was forbidden only in special periods, such as the death of Empress Dowager Cixi and Ma Huanghou. When Zhu Yuanzhang died, it was forbidden to slaughter during the mourning period, but not only pigs, but all livestock were forbidden.

Until the reign of Zhu Houzhao, Emperor Wuzong of Ming Dynasty, the playful emperor banned the slaughter and breeding of pigs, because his zodiac was a pig. But because pork was very popular at that time, the ban caused a great shock and was soon abolished.

Zhu Yuanzhang himself was born in poverty, and he was very concerned about the lives of the people.

In history, two emperors were born in poverty, one was Liu Bang, the emperor of the Han Dynasty, and the other was Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty. After they succeeded to the throne, they eliminated the minister mercilessly, but Zhu Yuanzhang was still very kind to the people.

Although they became emperors, Zhu Yuanzhang and his empress still lived a simple life in the court. Ma Huanghou even sewed clothes, spun yarn and weaved cloth himself, while Zhu Yuanzhang's imperial diet consisted of four dishes and one soup, including radish, cabbage and tofu.

During the Ming Dynasty, pork gradually became the mainstream meat on people's table, which was very important to people's lives. According to Zhu Yuanzhang's style, even "pig" can't be forbidden, let alone the rule of keeping surname.

Ming Taizu's name, in fact, people need not be too shy.

In ancient times, in order to avoid the king's taboo, the old names of many things were changed.

For example, during the reign of King Qian Liu of wuyue, the pomegranate in wuyue was renamed as "Golden Sakura", while in the Southern Tang Dynasty, honey was renamed as "Bee Sugar" to avoid the name of Yang Xingmi, the ancestor of the Southern Wu Dynasty. After Sima Yedengji, Jianye City was renamed Jiankang City, and so on.

However, the Ming Dynasty was special. Due to the rules of seniority and naming according to the five-element cycle set by Zhu Yuanzhang, most of the names of Ming emperors used uncommon words, and few things were affected in reality.

Although the royal family in Ming Dynasty was surnamed Zhu, it was not influenced by the tradition of anonymity and the common names of pigs at that time, such as tapir and pig.
