May 20 13, Cao Cao Gaoling became the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units. June 20 13, Cao Cao Gaoling and Yecheng sites were selected into the Twelfth Five-Year Special Plan for the Protection of Great Sites approved by National Cultural Heritage Administration and the Ministry of Finance.
National Cultural Heritage Administration said that "the archaeological excavation, academic appraisal and publication of research results of Cao Cao Gaoling conform to the rules of archaeological work".
