This painting is a manuscript of Taoist murals in the early Northern Song Dynasty, which has been handed down to this day in the form of scrolls. Its copy "The Picture of Eighty-seven Immortals" is now in the Xu Beihong Memorial Hall. The picture shows the ranks of Taoist emperors, gods, immortals, gods and gods. There are two emperors (Donghua, Antarctic), real immortals, jade girls, immortals and so on. And there are more than 80 people. Their composition is unified, and they seek change. When dealing with complex pictures, they can be coordinated and not chaotic, and all the ranks move forward rhythmically. The lines are vigorous and smooth, the characters are flying, the clothes are fluttering, and there is a legacy of "Five Dynasties being the wind"; Although it is not colored, it has a colorful and dazzling feeling. The painter painted dense and overlapping clothing lines with smooth long lines, fluttering in the breeze. The characters are vivid, the emperor is solemn, the god will be Kong Wu, and the goddess looks forward to life.
The composition of the mural "The Book of Chalks" and the "The Picture of the Eighty-Seven Immortals" collected by Xu Beihong Memorial Hall in Beijing are basically the same as this book, but the line drawing is slightly different, which should be for the same purpose. There is no money in this picture, and there is a postscript in the eighth year of the Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 172). It is said that this painting was painted by Wu Daozi, originally by Wu Daozi in the Tang Dynasty, and has been recognized by Zhao Mengfu as the original work of Wu Zongyuan. Today, people generally agree with this view. There are records in Xuanhe Huapu in Northern Song Dynasty and Huajian in Yuan Dong Tang.
