Chifeng City, one of the nine prefecture-level cities in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in Songshan District. Chifeng means Hongshan, and the Mongolian word "Ulan Hada" is named after the ochre mountain peak in the northeast of the city. Chifeng City was originally Zhaowuda League, which is Mongolian and Chinese means "Bai Liu".
