Ancient books recorded the story of morning running.
Marathon is an event with a long history. Its distance is as long as 42. 195 kilometers, but its historical origin is not "shorter" than its distance. "Marathon" is not an event that started with "entertainment". Behind this incident is an epic historical story, which contains an emissary's persistence and loyalty to the country. Like hundreds of years ago, "Marathon" is still a place name in Greece. In ancient Greece, the marathon was located 30 kilometers northeast of Athens. According to historical records, in 490 BC, the Persian Expeditionary Force invaded Greece. After the news of the deployment of the marathon reached Athens, Athens sent a messenger named Fidipides to Sparta for help. As a messenger, Fidi food traveled150km in 35 hours. But the Spartans said it would take 10 days to send troops. In the last battle, the helpless Athenians defeated the Persians with fewer victories. With the good news of victory, Fidipides ran from the marathon to the central square of Athens and shouted to the people of Athens: "We have won! Celebrate! " Immediately fell to the ground and died. This is the first "marathon" in human history. In order to commemorate this messenger, people regard "marathon" as a fixed activity, which has continued to this day. Michel Brill, a French linguist who has visited Greece, admires this patriotic fighter in the marathon. He wrote a long letter to Coubertin, suggesting that a long-distance race named "Marathon" should be added to the first Olympic Games in 1896 to commemorate this epic soldier. At the same time, he proposed to donate a "Brill" silver cup as a reward for the champion. This suggestion was quickly adopted, and since then, marathon has become popular among people.
