Where is the Nanjing Library?

Nanjing Library, referred to as Nantu for short, is the third largest library in China, the fourth largest library in Asia, a national first-class library, the first batch of national key protection units of ancient books, and also a document resource guarantee center in Jiangsu Province.

Nanjing Library, formerly known as Jiangnan Library, was founded in 1907. This is the first public library in China. 1927 changed to the library of Chinese studies of National Central University. 1933, the National Government established the National Central Library. 1952, the National Studies Library and the former Central Library merged into the present Nanjing Library.

By the end of 20 13, the total collection of Nanjing Library has exceeded 1 1 10,000 volumes, making it the third largest library in China and the fourth largest library in Asia, next only to the National Library of China and the Shanghai Library. Among them, there are 6.5438+0.6 million ancient books, including 6.5438+0.4 million rare books; 700,000 documents of the Republic of China. There are many Tang Dynasty works, Liao Dynasty classics and rare books written and printed in Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties in the collection, and 454 kinds have been selected into the national precious ancient books list.
