The origin of fish balls
According to Records of Historian Chen Benji, Qin Shihuang loved fish. He unified the whole country, and when he became emperor, every meal should have fish, but not thorns. If there are fishbones, the chef will die, and several chefs will die. And cooking fish soup is afraid of cursing Qin Shihuang for "breaking into pieces." One day, a chef cooked royal meals, and when he saw that the fish were timid and determined, he took a kitchen knife to hit the fish to vent his anger. Once or twice, he broke it. He was surprised to find that the fishbone came out automatically and the fish turned into minced fish. Just then, there was a meal in the palace, and the chef used his quick wits to pick out the fishbone. Without thinking, he kneaded the minced fish into meatballs and put them into the cooked leopard fetal soup, which became meatballs. In a short time, fish balls with white color, soft and crystal clear taste floated on the noodle soup and were presented to Qin Shihuang. The first emperor tasted it, praised it greatly and ordered a reward. Later, this practice gradually spread from the court to the people, known as "fish balls", that is, fish balls.
The legend of Fuzhou Qixing fish ball
In ancient times, there was a fisherman by the Minjiang River. One day, a businessman took his boat to the south to do business. The boat left the mouth of the Minjiang River and entered the sea. It was hit by a typhoon. When the ship entered the harbor to take shelter from the wind, it was unfortunately damaged on the rocks. The ship repair was delayed, the food was broken, and fish was eaten every day. The businessman sighed, "There are fish every day, and the food is tasteless. Can you change your taste? " "The ship's grain has been cut off, only a bag of potato powder," said the boatwoman. The ingenious boatwoman peeled and pricked a big eel that she had just caught, chopped the fish, coated it with potato powder, made meatballs, and tasted them after cooking. Afterwards, the businessman returned to Fuzhou and opened a "seven-star snack bar" in the city, which specially hired the boat lady as a chef and exclusively operated "fish ball soup". At first, business was not good. One day, a son who went to Beijing to take an exam passed by this store for dinner. The shopkeeper warmly entertained and held out fish balls. After eating the food, I found it delicious, so I wrote a poem:
Little stars are scattered all over the floor, and jade is sweet and fragrant.
Although southern Xinjiang has been drinking for thousands of years, it is rare for seven stars to taste poetry and spleen.
The shopkeeper hung the poem on the floor of the shop and all the guests came to watch it. Since then, business has become more and more prosperous and shops have become more and more popular. "Seven Star Fish Pills" also got its name.
