How did Sima Qian compile Historical Records?

Historical Records is China's first biographical general history. Written by Sima Qian in the Han Dynasty. Originally known as Taishi Gongshu, also known as Taishi GongGong Ji and Taishi Gongji.

Sima Qian is the eldest grandson, and his father, Sima Tan, was the Taishi Order during the Jian Yuan and Yuan Feng years of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. He is responsible for the management of literary and historical almanac and royal books. He was interested in compiling a general history of ancient and modern times, but failed to do so. Before he died, he told Sima Qian to carry on his legacy. Yuan Feng was the stepfather of Sima Qian for three years (108). In the first year of Taichu (104), he participated in the formulation of taichu calendar and began to write historical records. After more than ten years of hard work, I finally have a book.
