Henan Library, located in Zhongyuan District of Zhengzhou City, is the earliest public library in Henan Province and one of the earliest public libraries established in China. It is an integral part of science, education and culture in Henan Province, and it is an information center where all kinds of documents are concentrated. In 2004 and 2009, it was rated as a national first-class library by the Ministry of Culture twice, and in March 2008, it was announced as a national key protection unit of ancient books by the State Council. ?
Henan Library was built in the year of Xuantongyuan in Qing Dynasty (1909) and named as "Henan Library". 19 15 changed to Henan Provincial Library; 1953 was renamed as "Henan Library"; 1989 the new building was completed and put into use. ?
