There are roughly four key points in this "Great Harmony Society": First, a harmonious society should be a society where the world is for the common good. For example, lonely elderly people or people with disabilities can also be well supported. , so that they can live a good life, so as to ensure that every member of society can contribute to society; fourth, a harmonious society is a society of integrity, without fraud or theft, and is a beautiful place that never closes its doors at night society. Confucius called this kind of society "Datong".
There are many concepts of "harmony" in Confucian thought, such as "harmony without difference", which can be interpreted as that although there are differences in culture, they can be the same. Live in harmony. For example, the "neutral" mentioned in "The Doctrine of the Mean" means that there should be a universal and harmonious principle in doing things for others. To achieve moderation, "harmony" is a principle to achieve impartiality. Only harmony can achieve impartiality. It is a universal principle that should be followed when acting as a person.
Mencius and Xunzi particularly emphasized "harmony". For example, Mencius said that the right time is not as good as the right place, and the right place is not as good as the right person. Humanity is the most important thing, and Xunzi also said the same. There are many places where "harmony" is mentioned in Confucian works.
In Confucianism, the Book of Changes may be particularly worth mentioning, because there is a concept called "Taihe" in the Book of Changes. Wang Fuzhi interpreted "Taihe" as "the end of harmony", which means that "Taihe" is the most complete harmony. If it is the most complete harmony, it must contain many aspects. It cannot be harmony in any one aspect. Since it includes The harmony of society (among people) should also include the harmony between people and nature, as well as the harmony of people themselves, so that it is more comprehensive. Therefore, building a harmonious society must also consider these three aspects.
