Yin depletion is also called "yin depletion" [1], which is the pathogenesis [2]?, refers to a large amount of Yin fluid loss in a short period of time, and the sudden and severe failure of organ function, thus leading to life-threatening pathological changes [1]?. Yin-destroying syndrome is mostly caused by the development of high fever, sweating, vomiting and diarrhea, bleeding or other chronic consumption [2]. Clinical manifestations include shriveled body, wrinkled skin or sunken eye sockets, mental irritability or coma and delirium [2]. The difference between this syndrome and yang deficiency is: although there is sweating, the body is hot, the hands and feet are warm, thirsty and likes cold drinks, breathing is rough, lips and tongue are dry and red, and pulse is weak or thready [2]. Treatment should be to nourish yin and increase fluid or nourish body fluid and consolidate qi [2]. "Treatise on the Origin of Medicine: The Theory of Excessive Yin and Exhaustion of Yang": "The scripture says: Those who deprive blood have no sweat, and those who deprive sweat have no blood. Blood belongs to yin, so excessive sweating causes yin to be destroyed. ... The sweat that destroys yin makes the body afraid of heat. Warm hands and feet, hot muscles and sweating with salty taste, thirst and preference for cool drinks, thick qi, and strong pulse are the symptoms.
