What do animals and plants in ancient books mean?
Li Zhou Di Guan divides the habitats of animals and plants into five categories, and points out the species of animals and plants suitable for their life and growth. This is: "in a mountain forest, its animals are suitable for wool (beast) and its plants are suitable for soap (Quercus)"; "The second is Chuanze, whose animals are suitable for scales (fish) and whose plants are suitable for ointment (lotus)"; "Three hills, its animals should have feathers (birds) and its plants should have stones (drupes)." Fourth, pink face, its animals should be medium (fish turtle), and its plants should be pods (beans); "Five days, Yuanji, its animals should be naked (mollusks) and its plants should be clumps (reeds)."
