Who wrote Shan Hai Jing?

Shan Hai Jing was written by Yu Heyi.

Liu Xin of the Western Han Dynasty was the first person who was responsible for sorting out The Classic of Mountains and Seas. He clearly pointed out that the creator of The Classic of Mountains and Seas was Yu Heyi.

Liu Xin thinks that Yu and Yi control water together, in which Yu mainly controls water and Yi mainly keeps records, and then compiles what he has seen and heard into Shan Hai Jing. Since then, the view of "what Yu Yi wrote" has been widely supported by scholars such as Zhao Wei and Guo Pu.
