The courtyard where Cixi lives in the Summer Palace is called Leshou Hall.
Le Shoutang is located on the bank of the northeast corner of Kunming Lake, on the west side of Deheyuan Grand Theatre, where Cixi of Qing Dynasty lived in the Summer Palace. Le Shoutang is a group of large courtyards, with two courtyards before and after, and two courtyards around. The whole courtyard is beautiful and elegant, with cloisters extending in all directions and dotted with many flowers, trees and rocks. These buildings include Shui Mu Qiangzi Palace Gate, Leshou Hall, Houzhao Hall and East-West Annex Hall.
Shui Mu kissed the door alone.
The five halls built by Shui Mu's pro-Qin Gong face north and south, facing lakes and mountains, and the plaque of "Shui Mu Pro-Qin" written by Cixi is hung. This is the palace gate where Cixi enters and exits the Summer Palace by waterway.
Qing show
Entering from the Qin Palace Gate in Shui Mu, you come to the open main courtyard in front of Leshou Hall. There is a screen-like stone named "Qing Xiu", which is the largest Taihu stone in the Summer Palace and weighs more than 20 tons. The stone is supported by a bluestone base embossed with waves, which is magnificent.
Qing show
This big stone used to be in Dashiwo Mountain in Fangshan. Mi, a servant of the Ming Dynasty, found this strange stone and liked it very much. He wanted to transport it to his own spoon garden (now Peking University) to decorate the courtyard. He hired hundreds of strong men and a heavy carriage, and it took him several days to transport the stone out of the mountain. Finally, because of lack of financial resources, I gave up halfway and was defeated by this. Later, people called it "defeated stone". Later, Qianlong went to Xiling to worship his ancestors. When he met this stone, he lamented its strange shape and extraordinary experience, so he ordered someone to transport it to the front of the Leshou Temple and named it "Qing Xiu".
Leshoutang
The Leshou Hall where Cixi lived was built in the 15th year of Qianlong (1750). After being destroyed, it was rebuilt in the 12th year of Guangxu (1886) and changed to the present one-story cruciform style. In front of the main hall, bronze deer, bronze crane and bronze bottle are symmetrically arranged, and the homonym of "Liuhe Taiping" means that "cranes and deer are in the same spring, and the world is peaceful".
Leshoutang
The plaque of "Le Shou Tang" was written by Guangxu. Because there are lush green hills behind here and an open Kunming Lake in front, the climate is suitable and the scenery is excellent. Cixi sometimes came to live here in February and didn't return to the Forbidden City until November.
Yongshouzhai
I came to the backyard of Leshoutang, and there was a small door in the east. After passing this door, I came to Yongshouzhai, the residence of eunuch Li. According to the ancestral system of the Qing dynasty, the highest rank of eunuchs was only four officials, but Li was deeply trusted by Cixi, and finally became an official to two officials.
Leshoutang
Le Shoutang is the tallest building in the residential area of the Summer Palace, with an excellent geographical location. Going south, you can get in and out of the Summer Palace by water, and going west, you can go through the Xifu Pavilion, opposite the entrance of the promenade. East through the East Annex Hall, you can cross the corridor to reach the back door of Dehe Garden, Renshou Hall and Yiyun Hall where the Queen lives. It is very convenient to go to court to listen to politics, watch plays, visit lakes and enjoy gardens. She spent almost all her later years here. It can be said that Le Shoutang witnessed Cixi's later life.
