Shennong's herbal classics.

China's earliest record of tea is Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica: "Shennong tasted a hundred herbs, and when he encountered seventy-two poisons every day, he got tea and solved it." Lu Yu also said in the Book of Tea: "Tea is used for drinking and originated from Shennong." Therefore, it was Shennong who discovered tea.
