An astronomical work, Wuxing Zhan, was found in an ancient tomb of Han Dynasty unearthed in Hunan Province. This book mainly records some studies on astronomical constellations in ancient times, but what attracts archaeologists is that it clearly records a year number: Zhang Chu, which has never appeared in all ancient books.
Changing the title of the Qin Dynasty to Zhang Chu shows that there was a regime between Qin and Han Dynasties. Who established this regime? What is the historical mystery? Why are there no records about this in later history books? This puzzled archaeologists very much, and later, through in-depth research by historians, the fog was finally uncovered. This regime is the Zhang Chu regime established by Chen Shengnian's Guangwu Uprising. At that time, in people's minds, the Zhang Chu regime had replaced the orthodox regime of the Qin Dynasty.
Although everyone is familiar with the story of Guangwu Uprising in Chen Sheng, little is known about their later stories. Chen Zaisheng carried Chen Jianli to establish the Zhang Chu regime, calling himself King Chen as a pseudo-king. Later, with the gradual growth of the rebel army, Chen Sheng became headstrong, which led to the contradiction with Guangwu.
Chen Sheng sent Guangwu to attack Xingyang, but Xingyang was heavily guarded. The general guarding the city was Zhang Han, a famous soldier in the Qin Dynasty. Therefore, Wu Guangjiu was unable to attack and was finally killed by his subordinate Tian Cang. Chen Sheng gradually fell out of favor, and internal disputes among the insurgents continued. Take this opportunity to defeat Chen Sheng, Shengzai Chen was killed in his escape, and the Chen Guang uprising failed.
In the early Han Dynasty, people recognized the orthodox identity of Zhang Chu regime, but later the legitimacy of Zhang Chu regime was questioned, so it was not recorded as an orthodox dynasty in the history books, and this ancient book unearthed in the Han tomb was the work of the early Han Dynasty, so the title of Zhang Chu appeared.
