I left my hometown when I was young and didn't come back until my twilight years. Although my local accent hasn't changed, my hair on my sideburns has become sparse. None of the children knew me when they saw me. They asked with a smile, where did this guest come from?
Original poem:
"Two Hometown Couplets, Part I" Tang Dynasty: He
Young people leave home, old people return, and the local accent has not changed.
When children meet strangers, they will smile and ask where the guests are from.
Introduction:
This is a sentimental poem that misses home after a long absence from a foreign land. I wrote it when I first came here, expressing my feelings of hurting the old after a long time.
Extended data:
In 744 AD (the third year of Tianbao), He resigned from the imperial palace and retired to his hometown of Yongxing, Yuezhou (now Xiaoshan, Zhejiang). At that time, he was eighty-six years old, and he had left his hometown for more than fifty years in middle age. Life is easy to get old, the world is vicissitudes, and my heart is filled with emotion.
This poem uses three contrasts: by comparing the teenagers who left home with the old people who returned home, it highlights the long time away from home; Through the contrast between the difficult change of local accent and the easy decline of sideburns, the rapid change of personnel is highlighted; Through the contrast between the white-haired old man and the naive child, this paper euphemistically and implicitly expresses the joy and vicissitudes of the poet's return home, and harmoniously combines these two different feelings.
The whole poem adopts line drawing technique, which contains sincere and profound feelings in natural and simple language. Reading is like drinking fine mash, the entrance is very light and the stamina is endless.
