Why does Zhao rank first among hundreds of surnames?

There is no distinction between high and low surnames, but Hundred Surnames was written in the Northern Song Dynasty. The ruler of the Song Dynasty was surnamed Zhao, which was the surname of the country at that time. In order to show respect for the Zhao family, the editor listed Zhao as the first of all surnames.

Hundreds of surnames were formed in Qiantang, wuyue. In the Song Dynasty, besides the surname of the emperor, Qian, Princess wuyue, and Li, Wang of the Southern Tang Dynasty all ranked first among the hundred surnames, and the former grandson became the top four.

Among the hundreds of surnames, Zhao is the first and Song is the country. Song Zhao Dynasty was the most aristocratic Han Dynasty, and its economic, cultural, scientific and artistic prosperity reached the peak of China feudal society, with a population of over 1 100 million.
