Precious ancient book Kangxi Year Edition Peach Blossom Fan

This poem is a masterpiece praising two legendary operas of Ming and Qing Dynasties, Peach Blossom Fan and Palace of Eternal Life. The content of the poem is that during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, the dramas of Kong and Hong Sheng were very popular, and the Peach Blossom Fan and the Palace of Eternal Life were watched by emperors. Even though drama is the most popular in Yuan Zaju, there are many operas circulating in Yuan Zaju, but Goulanwa Temple, the performance place of these operas, is competing to sing contemporary dramas of Kong and Hong Sheng.

Kong (1648~ 17 18), the author of Peach Blossom Fan, was employed by the Eastern Tang Dynasty, alias "Antang" and claimed to be a mountain man. The sixty-fourth grandson of Confucius, a native of Qufu, Shandong Province, was a poet and opera writer in the early Qing Dynasty. He once donated to imperial academy students, majoring in Confucius genealogy. Giving lectures at the command was appreciated by Kangxi and awarded to Dr. Guo Zi. Later, he served as Minister of Housing and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guangdong Province. After abdicating and living in seclusion, he died in Qufu. The world compared him with Hong Sheng, the author of The Palace of Eternal Life, and called him "Nanhongbei Cave". As its representative, Peach Blossom Fan, as well as poetry collections such as Huhai Collection, Songtang Collection and Changliu Collection, have been handed down to this day. ? His works include poems with holes and poems.

The Palace of Eternal Life was written by Hong Sheng (1645 ~ 1704), who was born in Qiantang (now Hangzhou). A famous playwright and poet in Qing Dynasty. In the seventh year of Kangxi (1668), he studied in imperial academy, Beijing, took the imperial examination for 20 years, and wore a white suit all his life. He was illegally imprisoned, changed his school status and left Beijing for his hometown because he performed "The Palace of Eternal Life" on the anniversary of the death of Queen Xiaoyi. In his later years, he returned to Qiantang and lived in poverty. In the 43rd year of Kangxi, Cao Yin rehearsed the whole Palace of Eternal Life in Nanjing, and Hongsheng was invited to watch it. Afterwards, on his way back to Hangzhou, he fell into the water and died after being drunk in Wuzhen. Representative works include the historical drama "Palace of Eternal Life" and the zaju "Four Zen Volumes". ?
