The life of Meng Tian, ??the first warrior of China

Mengtian, surnamed Ji, Meng family, given name Tian. Han nationality, native of Qi State, a famous general of the Qin Dynasty, known as the first warrior in China. Meng Tian was born into a family of famous generals.

My grandfather Meng Ao and my father Meng Wu were both famous generals of the Qin State. They were deeply influenced by their family environment and had great ambitions since childhood, determined to serve the country. Meng Tian led an army of 300,000 to attack the Xiongnu in the north and regain Henan.

He built the Great Wall from Lintao in Longxi in the west to Liaodong in the east. He fought in northern Xinjiang for more than ten years and shocked the Huns. It is said that he once improved the writing brush and was the earliest developer in northwest China and the first person to develop Ningxia in ancient times.

Meng Tian’s ancestral home is Mengyin County, Shandong Province, and his hometown is Bianjiachengzi Village, 7.5 kilometers southwest of Mengyin County. According to textual research, Mongolia took Mengshan as its surname.

My ancestor was a native of Qi State. During the Warring States Period, my grandfather Meng Ao fled to Qi and joined King Zhao of Qin. He led the army to attack Han and Zhao, and became the highest official in the army. His father, Meng Wu, was also a general of Qin. He served as the internal history of Qin and joined forces with Qin general Wang Jian to destroy the state of Chu.

Meng Tian grew up in a family of military commanders, and was deeply influenced by the family environment. In 221 BC, Meng Tian was named a general and attacked Qi. For his contribution to defeating Qi, he was worshiped as internal history. His younger brother Meng Yi also became the supreme minister. The Meng brothers were deeply favored by Qin Shihuang. Meng Tian served as a foreign affairs official, while Meng Yi often acted as an internal conspiracy. They were known as loyal and trustworthy at that time. Other generals did not dare to compete with them.

After Qin unified the six kingdoms, Meng Tian was ordered to lead an army of 300,000 to attack the Xiongnu in the north. Recover Henan and establish thirty-four counties from Yuzhong to Yinshan. He also crossed the Yellow River, occupied Yangshan Mountain, and moved people to enrich the border counties.

The Great Wall was later built from Lintao in Longxi in the west to Liaodong in the east, connecting the original Great Walls of Yan, Zhao and Qin. The Great Wall took advantage of the terrain and natural dangers to set up fortresses, which effectively curbed the Huns' southward advance.

Later he was sent to open a straight road for Qin Shihuang to tour the world, from Jiuyuan County to Ganquan Palace, cutting off mountains and filling deep valleys, with a total length of 1,800 miles. Unfortunately, it was not completed. Meng Tian fought in northern Xinjiang for more than ten years and shocked the Huns.

In the winter of 210 BC, Qin Shi Huang fell ill while traveling to Kuaiji, so he sent Meng Yi to offer sacrifices to the mountains and rivers to pray for blessings. Soon after, Qin Shi Huang died of illness, and the news of his death was blocked by Zhao Gao.

Zhongche Mansion ordered Zhao Gao, Prime Minister Li Si and Prince Hu Hai to secretly plan a coup and establish Prince Hu Hai. When Hu Hai came to the throne, he sent an envoy to help the young master Su Ziying (Su Ziying) and Meng Tian die on a fabricated charge. Fusu committed suicide, and Mengtian had doubts in his heart and asked for a retrial.

The envoy handed Meng Tian over to the officials, sent Li Sishe to replace Meng Tian in charge of the army, and imprisoned Meng Tian. Hu Hai imprisoned Meng Yi. Ziying strongly remonstrated and believed that the Meng brothers should not be killed. Hu Hai refused to listen and killed Meng Yi. He also sent people to Yang Zhou to kill Meng Tian. Suicide by swallowing pills.
