How many rivers are there in China?
There are many rivers with a long history, a large number and a long process, which is one of the outstanding characteristics of Chinese rivers. There are more than 50,000 rivers with basin area exceeding 1000 square kilometers, there are 1580 rivers with basin area exceeding 1000 square kilometers, and there are 79 rivers with basin area exceeding1000 square kilometers. Among them, the Yangtze River and the Yellow River are not only the longest rivers in Asia, but also the world-famous giant rivers. Among the longest rivers in the world, the Yangtze River and the Yellow River rank third and fifth respectively. In addition, the Lancang River (lower Mekong River) and Heilongjiang River, which flow through or originate from China, are also among the top ten longest rivers in the world (table 1). The land area of China is similar to that of Europe and America, but the number of big rivers is far more than that of Europe and America. Even the area of China is 1, the top ten longest rivers in the world. Mainland name (km): Amazon River 6480, Nile River 6450 in South America, Yangtze River 6300 in Africa, Mississippi River 6282 in Asia, Yellow River 5464 in North America, La Plata River 4700 in Asia, Mekong River 4500 in South America, Congo River 4370 in Asia, Heilongjiang River 4370 in Africa and Lena River 4320 in Asia. The length of North America is greater than 1000. If the natural rivers in China are connected, the total length is 430,000 kilometers, which can circle the equator 10 and a half times. Although there are many rivers in China, their regional distribution is uneven. The number of rivers in an area is usually expressed by river network density (total length of rivers per square kilometer). The general trend of river network density in China is that the south is big and the north is small; Higashionishi is small. The river network density in the eastern part of China is above 0. 1 km/km2, while almost all the inland areas in the west are below 0. 1, and there is no flow in a large area (that is, the river network density is zero). The eastern region is also very different from the north and the south. Almost all of them are above 0.5 in the south. The Yangtze River and the Pearl River Delta are the areas with the highest river network density in China, both above 2.0, and even as high as 6.7 in the Yangtze River Delta. In the mountainous and hilly areas of northern China, the river network density is generally 0.2 ~ 0.4, while the low-level Songnen Plain, Liaohe Plain and North China Plain are generally below 0.05, or even no flow area. Almost all rivers in the outflow area of China flow into the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean and Arctic Ocean along three topographic slopes. The terrain slope in the east belongs to the Pacific basin, with the largest area, about 5.445 million square kilometers, accounting for 56.7% of the country's total area. Many rivers flow into the marginal sea on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean, so they can be divided into several basins. From north to south: Heilongjiang belongs to the Sea of Okhotsk; Tumen River and Suifenhe River belong to the Sea of Japan; Yalu River, Liaohe River, Luanhe River, Haihe River, Yellow River and Huaihe River belong to the Yellow River and Bohai Basin; The Yangtze River, Qiantang River, Oujiang River and Minjiang River belong to the East China Sea basin. Hanjiang, Zhujiang, Yuanjiang and Lancang belong to the South China Sea Basin. In addition, rivers in the eastern part of Taiwan Province Province directly flow into the Pacific Ocean. The southern slope belongs to the Indian Ocean Basin, covering an area of about 625,000 square kilometers, accounting for 6.5% of the total area of the country. It is mainly distributed in the southeast corner, south corner and southwest corner of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, bounded by Tanggula Mountain, Tanian Taoshan Mountain and Nvshan Mountain, and adjacent to the Pacific Basin in the east. Rivers in China's Indian Ocean Basin all flow from China and flow into different sea areas through neighboring countries. For example, the Nujiang River flows into the Andaman Sea; The Yarlung Zangbo River and the rivers at the southern foot of the Himalayas flow into the Bay of Bengal; The Shiquan River and Xiangquan River at the southwest end join the Indus River and the Arabian Sea. Part of the terrain inclined to the north belongs to the Arctic Ocean Basin, with the smallest area of only 50,000 square kilometers, accounting for 0.5% of the total area of the country. There is only one river in the Arctic Ocean basin of China, the Irtysh River, which is the Kara Sea that Russian injected into the Arctic Ocean.
