"Ancient Innocence Theory" comes from the first chapter of "Huangdi Neijing·Suwen".
"Ancient Innocence Theory" is a supplementary explanation of the source and characteristics of the creation of the Nei Jing: the beginning of medicine, from ancient times, is the first important paper in which Huangdi and Qibo discuss how to achieve health and longevity. First of all, it discusses the specific reasons why the ancients, who had a natural nature and no human interference, could live a hundred years without losing their movements, and why they did not know the way to maintain their health and declined after half a hundred years.
Secondly, it talks about the growth and development process of a person's life, emphasizing the important role of kidney qi, righteousness, and true qi on the human body. Finally, it lists the ideal life situations of real people, perfect people, saints, and sages. Overall, "Ancient Innocence Theory" is a very important and valuable chapter in the "Huangdi Neijing", which has had a profound impact on the development of traditional Chinese medicine theory and health methods.
An excerpt from the original text of "Ancient Innocence Theory":
In the past, the Yellow Emperor was born as a god. He was weak and could speak, he was partial to others when he was young, he was strong and agile when he was old, and he reached the sky when he was mature. He then asked the Heavenly Master: I have heard that people in ancient times were a hundred years old in the Spring and Autumn Period, but their movements did not decline; people today are half a hundred years old, but their movements declined. Times have changed? Will people lose it? Qi Bo replied: People in ancient times knew that the method was based on yin and yang, and the harmony of magic. They had regular food and drink, regular daily life, and did not work rashly. Therefore, they could live in harmony with the spirit and live their whole life. Go when you are a hundred years old.
People today are not like that. They use wine as a pulp and delusion as a habit. They enter the house drunk to drain their essence and dissipate their true nature. They don’t know how to keep it full. They don’t control the spirit from time to time and work quickly. His mind is contrary to happiness and his daily life is disordered, so he will become weak at half a hundred. According to the teachings of the ancient saints, they all call it the evil spirit and the wind. If you avoid it sometimes, you will feel contented with nothingness. If the true energy comes from it, if you keep your spirit within, you will never be ill.
Thus, the mind is leisurely and has few desires, the mind is peaceful but not fearful, the body is tired but not tired, the breath is obedient, everyone follows their desires, and everyone gets what they want. Therefore, they love their food, allow them to serve, enjoy their customs, and do not admire each other between superiors and inferiors. Therefore, their people are called simple. Therefore, greed and desire cannot strain their eyes, lust and evil cannot deceive their hearts, stupidity, wisdom and virtue are not worthy, and they are not afraid of things, so they are in line with the Tao. Therefore, those who can live to be a hundred years old without declining in action will not be in danger of their integrity.
