From the perspective of use, Chinese characters can be divided into two types: reserved characters and used characters. The former refers to static words used alone, while the latter refers to dynamic words used for communicative purposes. The use of each word is unbalanced, some words are used very much, and some words are used very low. The top ten most frequently used words are:
"De", "De", "Le", "Yes", "I", "No", "Being", "Man" and "You", in which "De" appears four times every1000 Chinese characters on average.
In China, Mr. Chen Heqin was the first person to calculate the frequency of Chinese characters by scientific statistical method. He selected 426 1 from more than 550,000 words and compiled Stylistic Practical Vocabulary, which played a great role in the popularization and application of vernacular Chinese.
1977, China conducted a large-scale survey on the manual use of modern Chinese characters, counted 2 1620000 Chinese characters, and compiled a Chinese character frequency table.
