In the sixth year of Kangxi (1667), he was granted the title of Duke Yan. In the ninth year (1670), he was awarded the title of Guanglu Doctor. In the fifteenth year (1676), he was promoted to the rank of Prince's Young Master.
He was good at poetry and prose, was good at writing large calligraphy, and was good at painting ink orchid. He was commissioned by Zhao Mengfu of the Yuan Dynasty. His posthumous title is Gongci. There are "Lantang Collection" and "Xinglu Shengdian". His wife, Fang, was born in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. She was Fang Hengnu, deputy envoy of Shandong Province. She was good at poetry and painting.
