Epital and abdominal fullness are mostly diseases of the spleen and stomach in traditional Chinese medicine. The disease is protracted and difficult to cure, seriously affecting the patient's quality of life. The common pathogenesis of the disease is as follows:
1. Insufficient endowment, weak spleen and stomach: Strain, long-term illness, serious illness, damage the middle qi, the stomach qi cannot harmonize and fall, the turbid qi ascends and reverses, resulting in epigastric fullness, belching and vomiting.
2. Improper diet and weak spleen and stomach: food stagnation makes it difficult for gastrointestinal digestion, blocks Qi movement, causes abnormal rise and fall, leading to fullness, acid vomiting, hiccups, etc.
3. Unsatisfactory emotions, liver stagnation and qi stagnation: long-term stagnation damages the liver and invades the stomach; or due to deficiency of the spleen and earth, the liver wood is multiplied, the liver fails to relieve diarrhea, and the stomach becomes incoherent, resulting in belching, fullness and other symptoms.
4. Internal injury and external sensation, damp-heat obstruction: Either due to external sensation, or due to overeating spicy food, damp-heat can cause internal obstruction of the stomach and intestines, resulting in sluggish qi movement, disharmony of the stomach, and symptoms such as fullness and heartburn.
5. If it is not treated for a long time, cold and heat are mixed: it is usually caused by Shaoyang disease, and the evil is stagnated in the stomach; or due to long-term stomach disease, cold and heat are mixed; or spicy and cold food can dissolve cold and heat.
6. Water-dampness does not change and phlegm-heat stagnates: Excessive phlegm-dampness in the body, combined with excessive tobacco, alcohol, fat, sweet and thick taste, damages the spleen and stomach, impedes transportation and transformation, stagnates the Qi mechanism, stops water-dampness in the body, and causes dampness to accumulate into phlegm. Phlegm stagnation transforms into fire.
7. Insufficient stomach yin, internal burning of deficiency fire: or long-term disease of the spleen and stomach affects stomach yin; or overeating spicy and dry food burns body fluids, resulting in insufficient stomach yin, internal deficiency of deficiency fire, and abnormal rise and fall.
