Reminder of happiness. Author/Bi Shumin

We have been accustomed to living with reminders since we were young. As soon as there was a slight change in the weather, my mother said, don’t forget to wear more clothes. I just met a friend, and my father said, be careful, he is a liar. You have achieved a little success, but you haven't been able to express your joy. All those who care about you say together, don't be proud! When you are immersed in joy, you keep saying to yourself: "Don't be too happy, misery may be coming soon..." We have become accustomed to living with reminders. Visible fear and invisible fear always hover like crows overhead.

On a good night with a bright moon in the sky, a reminder will come out and say to you: Watch out for the storm. So we ignored the bright moonlight and hurriedly made all preparations before the storm came. While we are waiting with our eyes wide open, the storm is like a belated flock of sheep, wandering around somewhere unknown. When we really can’t stand the pain of waiting for disaster, we may even maliciously hope that the storm will come sooner.

The storm finally came. We were disappointed to find that most of the preparations we made were useless. After all, the risks that can be resisted in advance are limited, but the unpredictable disasters in the world are unlimited. Overcoming the disaster relies more on last-minute measures, and the previous anxiety cannot help.

When the tail of the storm finally goes away, we keep our scattered home. Before we could catch our breath, a new reminder sounded wisely, and we began to look forward to the future with fear.

There are always disasters in life. In fact, most people have already learned to be calm about disasters. We just haven't learned how to be happy in the midst of disasters. We pay too much attention to alert ourselves to suffering, and we too neglect to remind ourselves of happiness. Please be happy from now on! Do you also need to be reminded of happiness?

A reminder to be careful about falling... a reminder to be aware of slippery roads... a reminder to be deceived... a reminder not to be surprised by honor or disgrace... The sages reminded us a thousand and one times, but did not remind us of happiness.

Maybe they think happiness cannot escape without reminding them. Maybe they think that you will cherish the good things and not give in to them. Maybe they worship blood and fire too much and feel that happiness is of no importance. They always stand on the precipice and guide us to escape from the suffering in the future. But what is the time after suffering has been avoided?

That is happiness!

You need to learn to enjoy happiness, and you need to be reminded when happiness is about to come. People can naturally learn sensual pleasure, but people cannot naturally master the rhythm of happiness. The pleasure of the soul and the comfort of the organs are like twin brothers, sometimes dependent on each other, sometimes diametrically opposed to each other.

Happiness is a tremor of the soul. Like an ear that listens to music, it needs constant training.

In short, happiness is a moment without pain. It doesn't happen as often as we think.

People often just pick up the golden mane on the ground after the golden carriage of happiness has passed far away and say, I have seen it before.

People like to reminisce about the specimens of happiness, but ignore the moments when happiness is covered with dew and exudes fragrance. At that time, we often walked in a hurry, looking forward and backward without knowing what we were busy with.

There are those who predict typhoons, those who predict locusts, those who predict plagues, and those who predict earthquakes. No one predicts happiness. In fact, happiness, like everything in the world, has its symptoms.

Happiness is often hazy, spraying rain on us very restrainedly. Don't always expect vigorous happiness, it will probably just come quietly. Don't try to turn the faucet wider, causing happiness to drain away quickly. Instead, you need to quietly experience the true meaning of happiness with a peaceful heart.

Most happiness is simple. It won't be like a signal flare, flashing red light high in the sky. It is wrapped in its true color and wraps us up in kindness and warmth.

Happiness does not like the hustle and bustle, and often comes in darkness. A piece of cake that helps each other in poverty, a heart-to-heart look in the midst of adversity, a rough touch from a father, a warm note from a girlfriend... these are all the happiness that is hard to buy. Like rubies on old silk, they shine more and more dazzlingly in the desolation.

Happiness sometimes plays a joke on us and comes in disguise. Opportunity, friendship, success, reunion...

They are all similar to happiness, but they are not the same as happiness. Happiness borrowed their clothes and came in curls. When I got closer and took off the curtains, I realized that it had a steel-like core. Happiness is sometimes very short-lived, unlike suffering that hangs over the sky. If the suffering and happiness in life are placed at two ends of the scale, suffering will be huge, and happiness may be just a small piece of ore. But the pointer must tilt towards happiness, because it contains the gold of life.

Happiness has a trapezoidal shape. It can expand or contract, depending on whether you cherish it.

We must be more alert to happiness, and when it comes, enjoy every minute passionately. According to scientists, the results of intentional attention are much better than unintentional ones.

When spring comes, we have to say to ourselves, this is spring! There will be a fluffy green feeling in my heart.

When we are happy, we have to say to ourselves, please remember this moment! Happiness will be with us for a long time. Then wouldn’t we have more happiness!

Therefore, in the harvest season, don’t think about the possible disaster years. We still have a long winter to think about it. We want to dance and sing with our friends and exaggerate the joy. Now that the seeds have repaid the sweat, we have the right to be immersed in happiness. Regardless of the wind, frost, rain and snow in the future, let us first grind the wheat into flour and bake a fragrant bread.

So, when we gather together from the ends of the earth, please don’t hesitate to say goodbye after a while. In the long years to come, there will be countless lonely nights where I can taste my sorrow alone. Every minute now, let it burn like pure alcohol into a light blue flame of happiness, leaving no trace of residue. Let us raise a glass together and say: we are happy.

So, when we are waiting at the knees of our elderly parents, even if they are gray-haired, even if they are old, you must have the courage to say to yourself: I am very happy. Because the world is impermanent, you will lose them one day and regret the time you spent at this moment infinitely.

Happiness is not synchronized with wealth, status, prestige, marriage, it is just the feeling of your heart.

So, when we have nothing, we can also say: I am very happy. Because we still have a healthy body. When we no longer enjoy health, the bravest people can still smile and say: I am very happy. Because I still have a healthy heart. Even when our hearts no longer exist, the best human molecules can still say loudly to the universe: I am very happy. Because I have lived it.

Always remind yourself to pay attention to happiness, just like looking at the sun on a cold day, your heart will be warm and bright without knowing it.
