How many kinds of idioms are there?

Common idioms can be divided into eight types: allusions, symbols, descriptions, metaphors, numbers, animals, plants and human bodies. Among them, allusions are idioms derived from characters, events and scenes in historical allusions or legendary stories; Symbolic idioms are idioms that take something or phenomenon as a symbol and express a specific meaning; Descriptive idioms are used to describe someone or something with vivid images. Metaphorical idioms express a certain meaning through metaphor; Numbers idioms, animal idioms, plant idioms and human body idioms are idioms with numbers, animals, plants and human organs as their themes respectively.
