Brief introduction of Bengbu library

Bengbu Library was established in 195 1 year 1 month. Its predecessor was the reading room of Bengbu People's Cultural Center, which was established in September 1949. After more than 60 years, the museum has continued to grow and develop, and its site has been relocated several times. The building area has developed from 90 square meters when it was first built to 8 100 square meters now. The new museum is located in Huaihe Cultural Square, Tu Shan East Road. It was delivered in June, 5438+February, 2005, moved into the new museum in March, 2006 and partially opened, and was fully opened on April 30th, 2009. The Bengbu Sub-project of the National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project was started simultaneously, and the national cultural information resources sharing was realized. The new building covers an area of over 865,438+000 square meters, with a designed collection of 6,543,800 books, 500 reading seats and wireless network coverage. It has an open space of more than 3,000 square meters, integrating collection, borrowing and reading, and receives more than 300,000 readers every year. It is a comprehensive public library with characteristics in Anhui Province. Bengbu Library has a collection of 930,000 volumes/piece, including 630,000 kinds of electronic books, 0/5 TB of electronic resource library, 0/053 kinds of ancient books, and 0/2/0/32 kinds of books. Basically form a collection of literature resources with complete disciplines and complete literature carriers. It is open to the public 365 days a year, providing services such as book borrowing, reading, document retrieval and reference consultation free of charge, and holding various thematic activities such as public welfare training, exhibitions, lectures and reading activities. There are special services such as digital resource reading and visually impaired reading.
