What is the relationship between earthquakes and clouds?

At the same time, Lv Dajiong, a seismologist at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, also observed an earthquake cloud over Zhongguancun, Beijing on the morning of March 3, 1978, and predicted that an earthquake would occur in the Sea of Japan. The difference between the predicted earthquake time and the earthquake occurrence time is only 48 minutes, and its accuracy is amazing. People have used seismic clouds many times to accurately predict earthquakes.

According to historical records and people's observation, earthquake clouds are mostly banded, like dragons, snakes, or straw ropes, or radial and ribbed. Its colors are white, gray, iron gray, orange, orange red and so on.

So what is the relationship between earthquakes and clouds in the sky? How are earthquake clouds formed? Kyushu University in Japan believes that due to the increase of geothermal energy before the earthquake, the air is heated, which makes it rise and spread to the stratosphere, forming a slender straw rope cloud belt at an altitude of 1000 meters.

Lu Dajiong and others believe that due to the heat generated by the fault zone, particles in the air can be heated in the form of ultra-high frequency or infrared radiation, forming a banded seismic cloud. In addition, some scholars have suggested that there may be a large number of high-energy charged particles escaping from the fault zone, or the static electricity formed by the earthquake source before the earthquake caused a banded earthquake cloud to form in the sky.
