Production process of movable type printing

Movable type printing refers to the printing technology of printing characters, patterns and other contents with separate movable types in a certain arrangement order. The following is the production process of movable type printing:

1. Materials for making movable type: Movable type is usually made of metals such as lead, tin and antimony. Firstly, these metals need to be melted and mixed together, then poured into the casting mold and cooled to get the casting mold.

2. Making movable type: put the cast movable type into a movable type casting machine, heat it to a certain temperature, then pour the lead alloy into the movable type, and cool it to get the movable type piece.

3. Proofreading: Proofreading is a very important step in movable type printing. Proofreaders need to carefully check whether the size, shape and position of each movable type are correct to ensure the accuracy of the printed text.

4. Typesetting: Put the proofread movable type on the printing plate in a certain arrangement order to form the layout of the printed content.

5. Printing: put the layout into the printing machine, brush the movable type with ink, and then print the movable type on the paper with pressure to form printed matter.
