In addition, Ming Chengzu ordered people to compile Yongle Dadian. This is an encyclopedic classic, including all the classic works since the pre-Qin period. Yongle period initiated by Cheng Zu and Hongwu rule initiated by Ming Taizu are collectively called Hongyongsheng period, which is one of the five major periods in the history of China.
