Guangdong Zhongshan Library is located in the middle section of Wende Road, Dongshan District, Guangzhou. Founded in 192 1, it was originally the library of Guangya Bookstore in the late Qing Dynasty. It was later renamed Guangdong Provincial People's Library. Guangzhou Zhongshan Library was built at 1933. 1955 provincial and municipal libraries were merged and renamed as Zhongshan Library, Guangdong Province. 1986 the new building was completed on Wen Ming road. It has 2.8 million ancient and modern books.
