He is currently a professor at the Institute of Ancient Books, a member of the Research Committee on Ancient Books Arrangement of China University, an executive director of the China Ancient Literature Society (to be established), a director of the China Shuihu Society, a director of the China Opera Society, a vice chairman of the China Sanqu Society, a member of the editorial board of China Opera and the editorial board of China Classics and Culture. He is the author of History of Zaju in Yuan Dynasty, Outline of China Literature History, Collected Works of Lu Shuzhai, etc. Participated in the compilation of the History of China Literature edited by You Guoen and others, and won the special prize of the State Education Commission: Huaying (one of the editors), the second prize of Beijing Social Science 1994, and the first prize of Beijing Social Science 1998.
Professor Li Xiusheng was born in 1933. Deping, Shandong Province (now Lingxian County, Shandong Province).
1957 graduated from the graduate class of China ancient literature in the Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University, and was assigned to teach in the Chinese Department of Jiangxi Normal University in the same year.
1959 transferred to the Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University as a teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor and professor.
1983- 1986, head of the Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University.
