How is parchment made?

Parchment paper is a new writing material, which is made of sheepskin after lime treatment, shearing and pumice softening. Parchment is mainly made of plants. Parchment is a kind of transparent high-grade wrapping paper, also known as sulfuric acid paper. It is denatured paper obtained by sulfuric acid treatment of sheepskin base paper. It is a kind of high strength paper, generally made of rag pulp or chemical wood pulp. No filler or glue is added in the production process, so the parchment has good water absorption and uniform structure. Because parchment is treated with sulfuric acid, its strength is very good, and it is widely used in industrial products such as mechanical parts, instruments and chemicals, as well as in the internal packaging of food, medicines and disinfection materials. The roll shape is usually called parchment roll (see sheepskin literature). From 3rd century to13rd century, European countries mainly used it to write documents, and14th century was gradually replaced by China paper. /kloc-in the 0/8th century, some countries still used it to write important code documents to show their solemnity. Today, many national archives keep such files. France and the Soviet Union have sheepskin archives of the 7th century, while Yugoslavia and Britain have sheepskin archives of 1 1 century. From 1 199, Britain copied important documents on parchment in full text or abridged form, and kept them as copies, with a considerable number. The first Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights of the United States were all written on parchment to show their importance. Italy, the Soviet Union and other countries have also set up institutions and personnel to study the protection and restoration technology of sheepskin files.
