Who stole the 18th Tomb of the Tang Dynasty? A probe into the mysterious grave robbers in the 18th Tombs of Tang Dynasty

Ganling of the 18th Mausoleum in Tang Dynasty

The famous "Eighteen Tombs of Tang Dynasty" or "Eighteen Tombs of Guanzhong" is the mausoleum of eighteen emperors of Tang Dynasty in China. They are scattered in six counties in Guanzhong, Shaanxi Province, all located in the north of Weihe River. From west to east, it is an Gang Ling, Jingling, Zhaoling, Jianling, chongling, Lingling Town Ling, Xianling, Duanling, Dingling, Yuanling, Fengling, Zhangling, Jianling, Qiaoling, Tailing and Guangling. But unfortunately, according to the research of experts in the field of history and archaeology, the "Eighteen Tombs of the Tang Dynasty" were looted to varying degrees except for the survival of Ganling.

Who stole the "Eighteen Tombs of the Tang Dynasty"? According to historical records, there are mainly the following three viewpoints:

1. Zhu Shaoling said. Once said in the imperial edict: "Zhu rebelled against Chang, stole famous vessels and violently invaded the mausoleum." If Zhu hadn't robbed the tomb, he wouldn't be so angry. Some scholars have raised objections: if Zhu stole the tomb of the Tang Dynasty, it would only be possible after he proclaimed himself emperor. However, shortly after Zhu proclaimed himself emperor, that is, Du Xizheng fought Tang Jun in Fengtian, and soon he was defeated and fled to Chang 'an, too late to rob the tomb.

2. Huang Chao said grave robbery. The reason is that after Huang Chao, the leader of the rebel army, withdrew from Chang 'an at the end of the Tang Dynasty, Gao Pian wrote a letter to Tang Xizong, which said, "This garden is completely destroyed and the ancestral temple is empty." Opponents believe that Gao Pian's memorial was made by civil servants when they lost power. In fact, they are all from Huainan and don't know much about Guanzhong. Xianzong once accused him of "pointing to Chen's excesses." It can be seen that there is no real evidence to say that Huang Chao stole Tang Ling.

3. Wen Tao said it was a grave robbery. Year: "Tang Zhuling is well known." Huayuan is handsome and thieves gather together, and the tomb of Emperor Tang is in danger. Some scholars start with the analysis of Wen Tao's jurisdiction, and think that if Wen Tao stole the tomb of the Tang Dynasty, Viagra in the Year of the Rooster is only a part, not the whole.

Because the ancient books of the past dynasties do not understand the records of the theft of the "Eighteen Tombs of the Tang Dynasty", although there are records, it is inevitable that there are omissions. Therefore, some specific problems need further research and exploration by researchers.
