Wang Xinfu’s family background

Mr. Wang Xinfu grew up in a scholarly family. His ancestors became rich through business, but his great-grandfather was already doing business while studying literature. He was also a businessman and a Confucian scholar, and wrote two volumes of "Zijingtang Family Instructions". His father, Wang Zuxun, began to enter politics. His family already had thousands of volumes of books, including the Song version of "Tao Yuanming Collection", the small-print version of "Tongjian Chronicles", Yu Renzhong's version of "Zhou Li Zheng Zhu" and other Song Dynasty books. There are more than 30 kinds of Yuan engraved editions. The Hongzhi version of "Chen Boyu Collection" collected in "Siku Congkan" is also an artifact in Wang's "Twenty-eight Sus of Inkstones". Influenced by family environment and mentors. Wang Xinfu developed a strong interest in ancient books and documents when he was young. After teaching, he enjoyed collecting materials and collating ancient books. He is not only diligent in collecting documents and materials to prevent them from being lost, but is also committed to publishing and disseminating them so that they can play their due role.

As a bibliophile, Wang Xinfu has devoted his whole life to collecting books and has also made great achievements. Mr. Wang has seen countless rare books in his life, some of which were purchased and collected, and some of which were copied. He has detailed records of the author's era, scholarship, practice, and related scholar activities during the inheritance process of each book. Before his death, he wrote a nearly 10,000-word catalog for some of the rare books he had on hand - "Moshu Xuanluo Cun Rare Books", which shows the characteristics of his book collection. There are more than 1,000 kinds of rare books recorded in "Shu Lu", totaling more than 2 million words. Mr. Wang died of pneumonia in 1966, and this work, which accumulated his lifelong learning, is only an unorganized manuscript. It was later compiled and published by Bao Zhenghu and Xu Peng (a disciple of Mr. Wang Xinfu).
