Impressions of Sailimu Lake and Horgos Port

Sailim Lake is located in the west of Yining City in the west of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Its lake surface is 2,073 meters above sea level, about 30 kilometers long from east to west, and about 25 kilometers wide from north to south. It is oval in shape and has the highest altitude and largest area in Xinjiang. The largest alpine cold water lake. It has always been famous both at home and abroad for its magical and beautiful natural scenery.

After breakfast, drive along the Kusai Expressway to Yining City. On the way, you will visit Sailimu Lake. The tour guide in the car didn’t introduce much about Sailimu Lake. He always said that he would introduce it in detail when he went around the lake. Unfortunately, the plan to go around the lake came to nothing because the teachers and tour guides from Dalian No. 20 Middle School who were in the same group as us had different opinions on the self-financed tour around the lake. Although we lost the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic view from the car, what we gained was two hours of experiencing its charm from up close, which is exactly what the saying goes.

The car parked at the south gate of Sailimu Lake. My eyes crossed the grass and stayed on the blue. This blue was so pure and clear, like a bright sapphire. Between the green grass and blue sky. Walking into the vast grassland by the lake, there are pastures, cattle and sheep like clouds, pastoral songs, dotted yurts, and picturesque scenery. Looking around, you can see majestic mountains, beautiful grass, and Saihu Lake, which is flat, clear green, and has a broad field of vision. When you are in it, you will suddenly become enlightened. You suddenly want to sing loudly and spread your wings. This sudden arrival Freedom is so complete that it seems more than you can bear.

Strolling on the small embankment between the pebbled lakes, one side is rough like the vast sea, and the other side is green and elegant, as smooth as a mirror. Facing the "sea", from near to far, the water color changes from milky white, beige, light to light. Green, blue, ultramarine, etc. are blended layer by layer. The rich colors cast a mysterious veil on the beautiful Sai Lake. It seems that nothing is impossible here! Just let the wind of the plateau blow quietly, with the coldness of the snow-capped mountains, the warm water of the sea, the wanton openness of the blue sky, you suddenly become a part of it, and the earth is completely integrated here. This world does not need Words don’t even require thinking, and you are the happiest person in the fairy tale.

Of course, the real joy belongs to the herdsmen on the lakeside. Every July, when the sheep are fat and the horses are strong, the annual Naadam Conference will focus on the joy of the Bortala grassland. This lakeside. At that time, vehicles carried harvests, horses carried strength, eagles carried courage in their beaks, and pastoral songs gathered love toward the lakeside. "Children can walk on horses, and women can bend bows." When the famous three-art competition of horse racing, wrestling, and archery begins, the grassland tilts, the mountains shake, and the lake boils. Happy songs and horses' neighs mix together, smiling faces and red clouds reflect together, waves and flowers bloom together, and the entire grassland is immersed in joy. (When the tour guide talked about the Naadam Conference for chasing love, a weak young man who was good at singing and eager to try was laughed at in a good-natured way: You happened to fall while riding a horse!)

Two hours later, we were happy Reluctantly leaving this beautiful and magical place, we headed to the China-Kazakhstan trade border port - Horgos Port. It is on the 9-kilometer border. China has erected 9 boundary monuments. Among them, boundary monument No. 324 is a double monument on the river boundary. No. 1 is in China and No. 2 is in Kazakhstan. The two boundary monuments are facing each other far away from the river. It is also the end point of the national highway "312" and the starting point of the 4,825-kilometer Eurasian Continental Bridge from Lianyungang to Amsterdam, a total length of 10,800 kilometers. After all, this is the border of the motherland, and there are strict checks along the way, with ID cards going in and out of pockets. Arriving at the China-Kazakhstan border, everyone grabbed vantage points at landmark buildings to take commemorative photos and then returned.

Arrive at Yining City, the capital of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture - "South of the Yangtze River beyond the Great Wall" when it gets dark. Before getting off the bus, the tour guide vaguely talked about the poor public security here. We didn't dare to make any mistakes, so we just indulged in a big meal of mutton at the night market in front of the hotel, which put our stomach and intestines to the test. I stayed in Room 1108 of the Harmony Hotel, and the floor was infested with insects, making it difficult to sleep. (2011-8-21 itinerary)

Attachment: [Sailim Lake, which has many names: Because it is the last place where the warm and humid air currents from the Atlantic Ocean visit, it is called the last tear of the Atlantic Ocean; Sailimu Lake has many names: Limu Lake is also called Tianchi in ancient books. The locals call Sailimu Lake Santaihaizi, named after the Ore Tubomu Military Platform (i.e. Santai) built on the east bank of the lake during the Qing Dynasty. Sailimu Lake was called "Western Pure Sea" in ancient times, and "Sailimu Nur" in Mongolian, which means "Lake on the Ridge". "Sailimu" in Turkic means "peace".
