Brief introduction to the content of Zhi Yanzhai's Notes on the Stone

A Dream of Red Mansions is a masterpiece of China's classical literature. Since its publication, the study of its essence has been continuous. There are many versions of A Dream of Red Mansions, but there are few reliable versions, which is well understood by both dream lovers and researchers. The existing version of A Dream of Red Mansions can be roughly divided into two systems. One is the fat-approved version that only circulated for the first 80 times, and retained the comments of Zhi Yanzhai. The other is the one edited and repaired by Cheng Weiyuan and Gao E, which deleted all the comments of Zhi Yanzhai and continued to write Cheng Gaoben of 120 times. The so-called fat storytelling is the collective name of all the fat-approved copies of Stone. These manuscripts retain a large number of scarlet notes, and some important manuscripts are engraved with the words "Zhi Yanzhai re-evaluates the stone". People call these early manuscripts of "The Story of the Stone" fat criticism or fat batch.
