Guangling history
Xu's Brief Introduction to Yangzhou: "Guangling County is named Yangzhou, which originated in the ninth year of Emperor Wen." Yangzhou, one of China's ancient Kyushu, was called Guangling (also known as Jiangdu) in Qin and Han Dynasties, and changed Guangling to Wu Zhou in the Northern Zhou Dynasty. It was not until the ninth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty that it was changed to Yangzhou.

Old friends frequently waved to me, bid farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower, and traveled to Yangzhou in this beautiful spring filled with catkins and flowers.
My friend's sail shadow faded away and disappeared at the end of the blue sky, only seeing the first line of the Yangtze River and heading for the distant horizon.

Poetry appreciation
One or two sentences in the poem explain the time and place of farewell. Wuhan is in the west, Yangzhou is in the east, from Wuhan to Yangzhou, downstream to the east, naturally bidding farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower in the northwest. Fireworks in March is used wonderfully. It not only pointed out the season of parting, but also expressed the mood at that time. "Fireworks" refers to the beautiful scenery shrouded in mist in spring.
In March in Jiangnan, the scenery is so beautiful that Meng Haoran will take flowers and embroidered curtains to the famous city in Jiangnan. How can it not be refreshing? On the surface, these two sentences only describe the person, place, time and destination of farewell, but through the lines, we can clearly feel the poet's infinite longing for Yangzhou, the capital of the Three Wu Dynasties.
The third and fourth sentences of the poem skillfully express the feelings of parting through the description of natural scenery and farewell scenes. "Solitary sail" is a pun, one refers to a boat, and the other refers to a friend going to Yangzhou alone. The sky is clear, but what you can see is the shadow of a lonely sail gradually disappearing at the end of the blue sky. Although in the sunny spring, now I am alone, looking at the flowing water rolling eastward, my disappointment is beyond words.
