Where is Wuhan Ancient Books Bookstore?

Temples and bookstores in Wuhan

1

I came to a city, where the most beautiful universities, ancient temples with flourishing incense and elegant and unique bookstores must be my travel direction.

According to local people, the Bodhisattva of Guiyuan Temple is the most effective in Wuhan, and Wuhan people will come here to pray and make wishes. I have included Guiyuan Temple in my plan to feel the incense in the ancient temple in Wuhan.

Guiyuan Temple is located in Cuiwei Road, Hanyang District. 1658, Zhejiang monks Bai Guang and Zhu Feng came to Wuhan and built this temple, belonging to Cao Dongzong, one of the seven schools of Zen. Guiyuan Temple, Baotong Temple, Xilian Temple and Zhengjue Temple are collectively called the four jungles in Wuhan.

Returning to the Yuan Buddhist Temple, the name of the temple is taken from the meaning of "unique in nature and convenient in many ways" in the Buddhist scriptures "Lengyan Sutra". I found some explanations about the meaning of this sentence on the internet, and there are different opinions.

Some explain that returning to the yuan means returning to the truth, that is, transcending the boundary between life and death and returning to the original truth and the source of silence. My understanding of this is that no matter where you go in your life, you can't forget your roots, know where you are going and where you come from. When people reach middle age, they will have a successful career and wealth. They must not get carried away, and they must have the mentality of returning to the source at any time to last for a long time.

There is also a saying that there is only one truth, but there are many ways to achieve it. I understand it this way. The "independent method" in Buddhism refers to an equal and undifferentiated way, that is, independent Tao and independent method. Simply understood as "unspeakable", everything has a causal relationship and there are many ways to reach the truth. Which way you choose to explore the truth, you will reap what kind of truth.

There is another saying, which I think is the most wonderful, which is interpreted by combining the Buddhist scriptures "Shurangama Sutra", "Tanjing" and "Diamond Sutra". This explanation says that "there is no difference between normal and convenient", which means that there are many ways to facilitate people, which is meditation. Buddhism is about the only way. But the odds are different, and there are many ways to practice getting started. "Dharma is like a raft metaphor" is a tool, that is, it is convenient for practice. There are many such "practices". But in essence, there is only one "five aggregates are empty".

Regarding the name of Guiyuan Buddhist temple, I have a corresponding understanding of each statement, but I also have my own interpretation. Every pilgrim who comes to Yuan Buddhist Temple to make a wish to worship Buddha, the guidance given by Buddha and Bodhisattva is to return to Yuan.

Whether you pursue marriage, study or career, the first thing you have to do is to go back to the original time from now, find your initial heart and roots, and then compare with your current situation, and you will interpret a new life.

I have been to many temples before, including Jiming Temple in Nanjing. Often, almost once a month, and I will volunteer in my spare time. When I was building a Buddhist sutra building in Jiming Temple, I also helped to carry Gongdewa from the mountain to the temple.

Besides, I have been to qixia temple, Jinghai Temple and Foding Temple in Nanjing, Ai 'an Temple in Beijing Beihai Park, Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, Taoguang Temple in Zhoushan, yongfu temple, Putuo Temple and Nanputuo Temple in Xiamen. ...

Naturally, I have reverence for temples. When you meet a Buddha, you worship, put your hands together and meditate.

The entrance of the temple is full of vitality, devout pilgrims come and go, uncles and aunts solicit business, and beggars beg in rags. I can't help feeling that there is a lot of suffering and helplessness in the world outside the Buddha wall.

At the entrance of Guiyuan Temple, I saw the disabled begging. An older man sat cross-legged on the ground, and another man lay on a skateboard with the help of his arm. They seem to have suffered great changes in their lives, and their bodies are incomplete, which makes people feel pity. They can't help but want to help them with their meager strength.

Such scenes are not uncommon in front of temples all over the country. They chose to beg at the entrance of the Zen Temple, and they also took a fancy to the sympathy of pilgrims.

Many things in the world hide their pain in their hearts, face the rising sun, walk alone and continue to be busy making a living. White-collar workers, blue-collar workers, beggars and fortune tellers all have the same methods. What buddhas and bodhisattvas can bring us is not material satisfaction, but spiritual transcendence.

Guiyuan Temple is not small in scale. In addition to the basic bell tower, drum tower, Ursa major hall, sutra depository and release pool, there are also the Ten Thousand Buddhas Hall and the famous Five Hundred Arhats Hall.

When you walk out of the side door of the guest room, you can see an arch called "the only way". Walk along the corridor when you enter the door, and you can reach 500 Luohan Hall. I have seen so many arhats in Nanputuo Temple before, and there are also many arhats' sayings. So you will find that many pilgrims are engrossed in counting the arhats, looking for the arhats that are destined to belong to you.

Walking out of the Lohan Hall, you will see the solemn double-sided Buddha statue standing in the center of the square. This is the first time I have seen the Buddha outside the main hall, and I feel a sense of respect in my heart.

A wonderful scene appeared. When my heart was troubled and there was nowhere to solve it, the Bodhisattva descended from the sky, stood in front of me and showed me the way. I put my hands together and worship.

Farewell to double-sided Guanyin. My friends and I went to the next scenic spot, Chuhe Han Street. I came here mainly to unlock Wenhua Bookstore. Because there is one of the most beautiful bookstores in Nanjing, pioneer bookstore, wherever I go, I will rely on pioneer bookstore to explore the artistic features of each bookstore.

Wenhua Bookstore is located in romantic and fashionable Han Street, and passers-by will always stop. Many people come here to study. The bookstore has four floors, and the stairs on each floor are full of fans, including young lovers, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, gray-haired old people and middle school students in school uniforms. They hold a book, indulge in books, and spend the weekend afternoon poetically, which is really a great pleasure in life.

Wenhua Bookstore not only sells books, but also sells corresponding handmade artworks, stationery, plush dolls, plants, coffee shops and children's playgrounds. The variety is complete and the workmanship is exquisite. Now the bookstore is in transition, not only books, but also endowed with style characteristics other than books. For example, the cultural and creative industries in pioneer bookstore are developing well.

What impressed me most about Wenhua Bookstore was on the second floor. I saw a column on a bookshelf, "I hope I can meet you often, nothing". These seven words fascinate me. When we are in contact with people, if there is no purpose, don't meet because it is profitable, just talk about it!

In their spare time, three or two friends gather in the coffee shop, drink coffee, read books and chat, do what they want to do and solve the troubles in the world. Drinking coffee is drinking coffee, not for anything else, not because you need help, just because you want to meet.

May you and I both have such friends and have such a wonderful time.

I bought a copy of Baron in the Tree by Calvino at Wenhua Bookstore. I like this book very much. Even after reading it, I still want to buy it in Wuhan Buying a book without any distractions is buying a book. I like this book and buy it as soon as I see it. I don't care if I watch it or not.

After buying books, my friends and I walked to the intersection of Chuhe Han Street and went to the coffee shop to "have coffee with you". I ordered a blueberry latte and he ordered a mocha for passers-by. We sat at the table, opened the new book we just bought, and smelled the refreshing ink and the mellow coffee. The wonderful time of life is now.
