Legend of Longmen Grottoes

First, the legend of Longmen Grottoes. There is a lack of reliable literature records when Longmen Cave was built. According to legend, the mountain farm was originally named Jingfushan, and Longmen Cave is another hill of Jingfushan. At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, Wang Yu Temple was built on the Longmen Mountain, which was small in scale. At that time, there were many Buddhist temples in Xinjichuan area, such as Jade huang temple, Shigong Temple and Longmen Temple. There is an ancient clock in Longmen Cave with the words "Made in Longmen Temple" cast on it, which was transported from Longmen Temple. Longmen Cave is densely forested, and there is Wang Yu Temple on the black lake below. Monks can live here and close their doors. Ma Danyang, the great disciple of Wang Zhongyang, once lived in Shigong Temple and Wangyaodong in the north of Longzhou before the Longmen Cave in Qiu Chuji, and set up the Double Ninth Festival in Longmen Cave to invite Quanzhen Taoists to meet in memory of Quanzhen founder Wang Zhongyang. Qiu left Longmen Grottoes and went to the ancestral temple, where disciple Zhao Jiugu presided over the grottoes. Zhao Jiu fought in the snow-capped mountains and died in the Western Regions. Longmen Cave was taken over by He Zhizhen, a mage under the Autumn Gate (a bricklayer of Huashan Sect of Longmen Sect). He has carried out a large-scale expansion project, built more temples, built plank roads, carved stones on cliffs, and officially named Jiangjun Mountain Scene Fu, which has been preserved to the present Longmen Grottoes layout. This is the time when it was placed. The construction process of Dali stone tablet in Yuan Dynasty under Sigong Temple is detailed, which is an important historical material. It is also said that the Longmen Grottoes before Qiu Lai are part of the Longmen Temple. Because of the temple built by mountain people to commemorate Yu Xia's achievements in digging mountains and controlling water, Qiu Lai was able to settle here. Later, the Longmen Taoist School named after this mountain was founded, and a jungle system was established to collect disciples and preach precepts. In addition, Qiu was received by the Jin and Yuan emperors and paid special attention to gifts. He ordered to lead Taoism all over the country. Wherever he went, officials, people and other sects greeted him respectfully with fragrant flowers, and his reputation spread all over the country. Expand Longmen Cave into a Taoist jungle with great boldness of vision, that is to say, the water source is woody, in order to commemorate the hill. According to legend, Qiu sent the presented Golden Taoist Temple to Longmen Grottoes for preservation to show his concern here. So far, Taoism has begun to recite the scriptures, and disciples of the Dragon Sect can wear golden lotus crowns, but other sects can't. The Longmen Sect thought that Qiu was the ancestor, and he was the Lord of the League. He built temples and statues, Qiu was in the main hall, and Wang was in the back hall and the side hall. The Taoist temple preserved so far in Longmen Cave was built in the early Yuan Dynasty. As for the Lou Jing in Longmen Cave in the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, it was cultivated and carved. The site of Loujing Pavilion Cave next to the top of Hunyuan and the stone carving of "Mr. Lou Jing Cave in the Sun and Moon" were intentionally left behind by Yin Zhichang when he was repairing the temple. There is no detailed information, so it is difficult to determine. Second, Chen Ye first replaced the urn with Chen Yaoming, a Taoist priest in Jingyuan, Gansu Province in Jiaqing, with blue eyes and a yellow beard. He looks weird and can write poems. Lailongmen Cave lives in Zaoyang Cave for monasticism and often practices medicine. The villagers respectfully called him "Chen Yexian". One day, Chen went to Ankou Town, Huating County, Gansu Province, and the owner deliberately embarrassed him, saying, "There is no cash donation in the store, only large porcelain jars to sell. You are a wild fairy, move yourself. " Chen Jishou thanked him and left. A strong wind suddenly blew in the middle of the night, and the two large water tanks in the store were blown to the stone platform on the rock half cliff in the alley behind Longmen Cave, and now the remains of porcelain tanks are left. Third, the king became a tortoise.

There is a deep hole behind the shrine on the second floor of Hunyuan Peak, which is said to lead to Kongtong Mountain in Pingliang, Gansu. There are often gods and people living in caves. But there is a deep pool at the mouth of the cave, which ordinary people can't pass through. I don't know when, a Taoist king who has cultivated half a fairy can cross the deep pool and enter the cave. When I first entered the cave, I saw a carpenter doing carpentry. He guessed that this man must be a fairy, so he made up a lie and said that he wanted to renovate the Longmen Grottoes, but he lacked financial resources, so he asked the fairy for help. The carpenter agreed, pointing to the wood residue in the ground and asking him to recite it as much as possible. He was disappointed at that time, but when he looked out of the hole, those pieces of wood residue turned into gold nuggets, which was really overjoyed. But although this man sees through the world of mortals, he is extremely greedy and selfish. He only took out a small amount of gold to repair the temple and took the rest home. Greedy, he entered the cave back for the second time, carrying a big bucket, but he was ecstatic, and one slip fell into the Hei Hu Lake under Nie Yunqiao. According to the legend of his fellow villagers, he was whipped by iron whip, the Hei Hu Lingguan guarding the mountain, and was driven into the pond. He also said that he became a chinemys reevesii after his death. Later, the villagers who went into the mountains to make pilgrimages called Wang Dao's name, and the tortoise came out of the water and nodded at the emerging difficulties. Some people hate his greed, become different, disgrace his fellow villagers and spit on him. From then on, it sank to the bottom of the pool in shame and never appeared again. 4. Yuan Shizu inquired about this stone and tied this Ma Shitou to Yuan Shizu Kublai Khan. Because Qiu Chuji, a Buddhist, once lived in Longmen Cave, I heard that the scenery here was very good, so I took the pro-expensive minister to visit and talked about Quanzhen religion with the disciples of Longmen Sect at that time on the rock east of Ding Xinfeng. Leaving stones before the peak and "Talking about the North". Because he had many guards, there were stone walls here, and there was nowhere to tie the horse, so he tied the royal horse to the steep stone with a crow's mouth hanging at the front door. This trace has been passed down to this day.
